What to include in a quote request
- Commodity
- Detailed enough to classify. "Machine parts" cannot be classified. "Cast iron pump housings, unmachined" can.
- Weight and dimensions
- Per piece and total, including the pallet. Ocean LCL and air price on the greater of weight or volume.
- Origin and destination
- Door addresses for door service, port or airport names otherwise.
- Incoterm
- The rule your contract uses and the named place. See our Incoterms reference.
- Value
- Commercial invoice value, for customs and for insurance.
- Timing
- Target sailing or required delivery date, and whether it is firm.
- Hazardous
- Tell us the UN number up front. It changes booking, packing and documentation.
